Why made you decide to undergo iLASIK surgery ?

I have been thinking of undergoing the LASIK surgery and have been following technological developments of the LASIK surgery for the past 10 years. My friend whom I worked with and his wife recently underwent the LASIK and told me how deeply they were impressed with the LASIK results. His words convinced me immediately. In the past I was a little concerned about traditional LASIK surgery with microkeratome and its aftereffects. However, a more advanced technology, called IntraLase, was developed and I felt more interested in undergoing LASIK surgery.

How did you feel the night before the surgery or right before the surgery ?

Rather than feeling nervous, I was anxious and excited to undergo the procedure as soon as possible. Immediately after the surgery, my vision improved a lot and I was very impressed. Next morning when I took my daughter to school, I could see clearly each leaf on the trees at a nearby university campus. I was astonished to recall how beautiful each leaf was. For the first one week after the surgery I had a little haze, but now it is all very natural.

After you restored your vision, what did you want to do or where did you want to go ?

I used to go swimming to southern islands with my family during summer time, it was bothersome to carry contact lenses case etc. But now I am no longer bothered with contacts when swimming. We haven't decided where to go next summer, but I am really looking forward to marine sports.

I also used to go to Whistler in Canada for winter sports. When skiing with goggles, my eye glasses got fogged up and I felt dry eye when wearing contact lenses. No more !

Would you advise your friends who have an interest in undergoing the LASIK surgery ?

I believe there are many people who concern about safety of the surgery and who hesitate. "Don't wait ! Thanks to the technological innovation, the surgery is definitely safe and results fantastic." Even though the doctor at natural vision Takanawa Clinic is rather young, but he is well experienced and well trained on the full use of state-of-the-art technology. I am very satisfied with the LASIK results.
