Were there any particular reasons which made you undergo the LASIK surgery ?

I felt very bothersome to wear glasses, particularly when I went to "Onsen (hot springs)". Also, my daughter broke my glasses the other day and I felt it more convenient to live without glasses. That's why I decided to have the surgery instead of buying another pair of glasses. Another reason is when I consulted an ophthalmologist at another clinic about my eye vision, she introduced the LASIK treatment as another method of correcting vision and recommended natural vision Takanawa Clinic. Before I decided to have the LASIK surgery, I had studied about LASIK through Internet. The LASIK has been becoming popular in my home country, France, but the surgery cost is still expensive at 3,000 Euros and many people cannot afford to undergo the surgery. The cost here in Japan is relatively reasonable so that this is another reason why I had the surgery.

How did you feel the night before the surgery or right before the surgery ?

I was a bit worried and nervous even though I had received enough explanations about the iLASIK surgery, because I was very concerned about my eyes' being touched. I could not sleep well the night before the surgery day. On the day of the surgery I was OK even though I was still a little nervous. I got operated on for appendicitis when I was twelve years old. Since then the medical technology has far advanced in various fields. Without such advanced medical technology, I wouldn't have done the LASIK surgery. During the surgical operation this time, I did not feel any pain in my eyes even though the doctor had told me there might be a little pain, and I think the operation went very smooth.

Even immediately after the surgery I could see very clearly even though I had some foggy vision and I was very amazed to realize such an immediate improvement.

What would you like to do after your vision became much improved ?

I am very much looking forward to returning to France during Christmas season with this improved vision, and also I would like to go to "Onsen(hot spring)" spots since I am an Onsen lover. In the past I visited "Onsens" in Hokkaido, Hakone and southern parts of Japan.

How would you advise your friends about the LASIK ?

I would definitely tell them that the LASIK surgery is not dangerous and recommend going ahead with the surgery. I e-mailed my friend in France saying how wonderful my improved eye vision is, and he decided to have the LASIK operation soon. Although I tried to advocate the LASIK treatment for its wonderful result, some of my friends still feel worried about the eyes being laser cut.
