LASIK Experience

I was very comfortable wearing glasses as I had done so since I was seven years old. Vision correction, however, has allowed me to lead a more active life with my family. I had spent a lot of money on glasses and lenses, but now it’s a miracle for me to be able to see without glasses.

What made you have LASIK surgery done ?
Was there any particular reason to consider LASIK ?

I had worn glasses not only for strong myopia but terrible astigmatism for most my life. My young children enjoy swimming in the pool and I wanted to spend more time with them at the pool. Contact lenses bothered my eyes to stay there all day.
So, I decided to have LASIK even though I am not really athletic. Having LASIK done, I am now able to enjoy skiing and perhaps even try surfing...

How did you feel the night before the surgery or right before the LASIK procedure ?

I was very nervous but was very glad that my husband accompanied me here. It was very sweet of him. It was amazing how my vision recovered so quickly.
The staff here were understanding and relieved my apprehension. During the procedure the doctor kept me informed of the whole process, step by step, so I was also comforted by this level of medical care.

After you recovered your current visual acuity, what did you want to do or were there any places you wanted to visit ?

The first thing I wanted to do was to buy cool sun glasses.
This summer we are planning to go back to New York for a couple of months and visit my husband’s mother in Massachusetts. I want to go to a beach and stay there all day long wearing sun glasses and playing with the kids in the water.

Would you recommend LASIK to your friends who need visual correction ?

Without hesitation I would recommend the Doctor as he is a highly skilled professional in this field. I would strongly encourage anyone who is the least bit curious about the procedure to visit your clinic and consider having LASIK done.
I have already handed out referral cards to two friends of mine.
