Sports. Especially aquatic-sports because I can’t wear glasses in the water. I can wear contact lens under goggles but wearing contact lenses risks eye problems or I could lose one contact lens in the water. Also, I play table tennis competition but it is not ideal to wear contact lenses because the eye moves quickly and a contact lens weighted for astigmatism sometimes can rotate in the eye so that vision can come and go a bit. Also, I used to bike at speeds of up to 80 kilometers an hour descending a hill, so wind caused problems such as dry eyes when I wore contact lenses, so that I ended up wearing glasses. But this also raises a problem because of sweat. Sweat stains on the glasses can impede vision for running as well as cycling. So, it is inconvenient to wear contact lenses and / or glasses at these occasions.
Yes, of course. Before the surgery I read a lot of information devoted to LASIK in Internet and many people posed problems and negative example of LASIK. I had a consultation in the United States in 2007 but I decided not to get LASIK done at that time, because I was not so confident about LASIK if it would work well. And also I have a younger sister who is a medical doctor. She had also myopia and she decided not to get LASIK. Instead, she had implants of lenses because she can remove them any time.
It’s an individual choice, but I chose LASIK to correct myopia despite negative comments.
I didn’t visit the other one. I felt comfortable because of the language. Also you examined my eyes in quite a detailed manner by using many examination machines and equipment. When I had a LASIK examination in the United States, they didn’t perform such detailed examinations. Also it made me feel comfortable that the same doctor takes care of everything at this clinic from the pre-operative examination to the surgical operation and the post-operative check-ups. Also, to add one more, during the course of examination and consultation, I didn’t get any pressure of “get LASIK done here”. So, these are the reasons why I chose this clinic and the LASIK procedure.
I advise them to read as much as they can, so that they can be aware of risks associated with LASIK. No need to hurry until they get comfortable about the procedure and the clinic they choose.
